About this event

Falls Prevention Forum - 12 PM PT / 1 PM MT / 2 PM CT / 3 PM ET

This forum will bring together members of the Village-to-Village Network to engage in a facilitated discussion focused on:

  1. Learning from fall prevention efforts undertaken by Villages, including successes and lessons learned.
  2. Discussing the opportunities and challenges associated with implementing fall prevention programs.
  3. Exploring whether and how fall prevention could serve as a strategic focus for Villages in advancing healthy and safe aging within their communities.

Falls are the leading cause of both fatal and non-fatal injuries among adults aged 65 and older in the United States, with 1 in 4 (approximately 14 million) older adults experiencing a fall each year. Preventing falls is a critical component of healthy and safe aging and is influenced by a wide range of social determinants of health.

Fall prevention is a priority for the National Council on Aging, and several evidence-based programs have been developed and implemented nationwide to reduce fall risk and support older adults in maintaining independence and well-being.

Through shared experiences and dialogue, participants will identify practical insights and potential pathways to strengthen fall prevention efforts across the network.
