RunMyVillage User Talk - 3 PM ET/ 2PM CT/ 1 PM MT/ 12PM PT
Over 25% of Villages using RunMyVillage have implemented the Volunteer Self-Signup (VSS) module…with a growing number of Villages successfully using it. VSS allows your volunteers to assign themselves for services requested by members. Many villages are now comfortable allowing certain types of services to be self-selected by certain volunteers, without the village office staff and “call manager” volunteers being involved.
The VSS module allows volunteers to go online at any time and consult their own schedules in selecting when to choose a service. They can choose the type of service and the member who needs help. Because volunteers say they like to use it, VSS aids both as a volunteer recruiting point and in volunteer retention.
Many Villages have looked at VSS over the last few years, but have not quite been ready. 2020 might be time to look again (or consider VSS for the first time). With the many 2019 enhancements, VSS is more attractive than ever. Some Villages have found that more than half of the VSS signups occur when the Village office is closed.
The January 16 User Talk is for you to understand better how your Village would benefit from VSS and to learn more about how VSS would actually operate in your environment. VSS is an extra-cost module from RMV; there is a one-time fee of $600 to implement it.
Please invite anyone from your Village who you think will be interested in learning about VSS and its benefits to the Village and to your volunteers.
These monthly talks are designed to help Villages use RunMyVillage more effectively. Each month has a different topic. The intended audience always includes the technology community within your Village; in addition, others in the Village may be invited based on the planned topic. Each of the User Talks has time for Villages to ask RunMyVillage-related questions to RMV and to other Villages. Examples of what we plan for these talks: RMV new release updates and discussions, results of surveys of desired enhancements to RMV, discussion of best practices and common issues particularly where Villages use RMV is different ways, and orientations for new Villages.
